Say you have a semi key like a 1996 silver eagle that's raw.
Would you try to sell it on a forum like this? or ebay?
Keep in mind your trying to make as much as you can.

I would say E-Bay. While selling on this forum is great, you are limited to a smaller group of people interested in your coin.

With E-Bay, you have a larger audience looking for a 1996 ASE.

Check completed auctions, this should give you an idea, on how much a 1996 ASE is selling for.

Agreed as above with the note that if it looks as if it is really, really good you might consider getting it graded by a TPG. From what I have seen by both online sellers ebay and otherwise, the graded examples carry a premium (usually above the cost of the grading). Worth at least looking into.

When you look at those copleted auctions on ebay remember that after all of the fees you are probably looking at 90% of that wnning bid figure.

there is also the option of listing on ebay and then posting a link to the ebay auction for everyone on the forum that may be interested, that way you cover all bases. But I would tend to agree that ebay would probably give you the most coverage of the coin to more people that can actually afford a key date coin and needs one

ebay of course. Just learn to make that coin sound like it is the last coin on Earth in your discription. Millions of viewers and most do not know what they are looking at anyway.
