Hello! Today while coin roll hunting, I saw a 1992 D penny with what I think is a doubled mint mark. After looking through my magnifying glass, I found some more doubling on the reverse that looks to me like split-plate doubling or Machine Doubling. What do you guys think?

Sorry, no doubling. Just copper running away from the zinc, a common problem.

This happens often with Zincolns, not an error. I love your username by the way, it reminds me of, well, me!

It might also be helpful to know that there are no RPM's after 1989 due to changes in the way things are done. I believe, starting in 1990, the mintmark is included in the Master Die sent to each Mint. The only exception that I am aware of is the doubling of the "D" in several of the 1995-D Doubled dies that look like RPM's but are actually hub-doubling. The experts would know more about this...

I hope this helps.

It is split plating from the strike. Too much pressure in that area. Nothing doubled, just the air reaching the zinc and starting to be affected. I've seen worse though:
