I've been collecting 1922-1936 George V nickels for about 8 months and I broke down and started thinking about collecting the earlier fish scale 5 cents too. Here is the first Vicki I bought, but I'm really not sure yet on the finer points of grading this series. My guess is VF-30 but I'd appreciate opinions to the contrary and reasons for a higher or lower grade based on the obverse.

I would like to see more of the coin, including the other side. VF30 -35 seems right.

I'm ok at VF-30. But this coin is a borderline VF-30 and could be easily pulled down to a 20 by the reverse or any problems on the coin.

Thank you for the comments so far. Here are full coin shots -- let me know if these change your opinions. Sorry for not posting them right away, I needed to wait until I had some natural light to take them using my camera rather than USB microscope. At some point I need to invest in a better photographic equipment ...

After seeing reverse, I'll go with VF20.

Yes I am at a VF-30 for myself. However I would take a VF-20 anyway! nice coin!

Ahh... Lot better photos.
Nice coin, the crown detail is sharp and I don't think there is as much wear on the hair as the picture shows, VF-30 for me
