Just got this Morgan and I noticed the rim- ?. I know partial collar strikes usually have half the reeding but this is like 3/4. Any thoughts? Appears genuine--weight etc.

Looks like just a non-full strike that didn't completely form the reeding.

Not quite enough to call a full railroad rim error, but pretty close I'd say. Not much value aded unless you find the right VAM/Error collector, looking for die states or weird oddities in the series, even then the premium would be very small I would think.

No doesn't show any features of a partial collar strike. On a partial collar/railroad rim the unstruck portion of the edge extends out further than the reeded portion. On this coin the reeded portion is the highest portion. Also notice the top and bottom portions of the edge bevel down from the rim to the reeded portion. This is the normal appearance of a non-fully struck edge. Check out a bunch of pocket change and you will probably find some similar pieces in your cents dimes and nickels with bevels from the rims to the vertical center of the edge.
