How do you know it's a fake?
But I have to admit I wouldn't even consider buying it since it's not been authenticated.

A couple of big red flags for me are: 1. The "N" in "ONE" is not weak. 2. The last feather is between the C and the A in AMERICA, it should be between the I and the C.

It's the rare Satin Finish variety.

This is one reason I'm happy to have found this forum, thanks for the little tid bit of information for future reference.

This seller has excellent feedback, so I contacted him instead of reporting the item. He quickly replied to my message and thanked me for bringing it to his attention. He said that, when he gets to his office, later today, he'll examine the item and take it down upon confirmation it's a fake.
It's long been my experience that, even the so-called "power sellers" of coins often lack rudimentary numismatic knowledge. Over the years, I've gotten virtually all of my best coin buys from "power sellers" who tend to view coins, tokens and such largely as commodities. The downside is that these "big dogs" are often moving so much material that they don't take the time to study; this, as I suspect is the case with this 1877.

The seller apparently agreed and stopped the auction. You may very well be correct about a future reappearance, just carl.

I had talked to him also. Just said thanks. I don't think he really knew. Well any Indian guy worth his salt would've seen the placement of that last feather lol and just the overall funkiness of the coin.
