I need your oppinion on this Morgan and it's authenticity. It weights the same as my other Morgans, has a good "ping", and neodimium magnet behaves the same as on my other silver coins. So do I need to be woried if this is a fake? And if not, how would you grade it? Thanks!

Has the look of a cleaned (dipped) coin.

Quote:It looks the real deal to me, maybe a VAM-6 http://www.vamworld.com/1891-CC+VAM-6. I'm leaning VAM-3; date seems a little too far for VAM-6. Either way, I'm not really uncomfortable with its' authenticity. No doubt there are a ton of genuine Morgans floating around Europe from various exchanges in the Nineteenth Century.

Appears authentic. Do you have a weight?

Subject to weight being correct it appears authentic. I'd say EF45 condition grade, on account of all the pitting.

@vermontensium I don't remember at the moment, but it's within limits - it's bit above 26g
