I am pretty sure this a fake but wanted to get the forum opinion. It is not magnetic. No scale to weight it.

Your local pharmacist will likely weigh it for you. It may be genuine with environmental damage and excessive cleaning/whizzing. I'm on the fence with this one!

The second 7 in the date looks bizarre to me. Of course, the rest of the coin is severely damaged.

I would go here and find one that fits your needs better:

My money is on it being a plated copper fake. The denticles, the date, and the poor strike on the sheaves are all big red flags.

I stopped by a pharmacy but they didn't have a scale. I put my money on fake too. I don't want to sell the coin as genuine and it's not.

Go to weigh it in a jewelry.

Horrifying. The denticles look 18th Century, not 19th.

That apparently over-sized, second 7 in the date makes me suspect, too. Yet, I have a difficult time imagining that a modern fake would have suffered all this abuse!

My pharmacist would have weighed it! The jewelry store is a better suggestion though.

Denticles look awful. Hand doesn't look right. Heck, nothing looks right. And that second 7? IMO, 100% fake.

I say fake. Here's why:

- Denticles don't look right
- the second seven is much larger compared to the other digits
- looks like copper where the silver is worn
- the surfaces look like that of a poorly cast coin

Given the weight, it's settled. Fake.

Sorry, my friend. :-(
