I recently found a 1989 D DDO. It kind of looks like Machine Doubling or even just the copper running away from the zinc. What do you guys think? Here are the spots I see doubling: Liberty, in god, and Lincolns head.

I am just learning this stuff, but from what I see it just looks like a very worn die that caused the coin to have the look it does. Hope other experts chime in
Rest in Peace

Hmmm. Doesn't look like MD to me -- I think we're going to need coop and John1 on this one.

It looks like Die Deterioration. Note IN GOD...the devices are blending into the field. You'll often see that when the die is worn (LDS or more likely, VLDS) a ghostly image appears adjacent to a device (normally LIBERTY and the DATE). John Wexler has a write up on this phenomenon I think.

It's a plating issue that is very common on zinclons. Almost like a gas bubble I think.

It is Die Deterioration. I shows on the sides of the devices that face the rim. Date to the right, LIBERTY to the left and motto above the devices near the rim.
