Post what happens to let us know when we're addicted to collecting.

My eye opener happened last night during a walk with the dog. I looked at a pretty sunset and thought, "Wow. That's some nice toning."

You look carefully at every coin in your pocket change, despite the fact that you collect ancient coins.

You count quarters instead of sheep when you're trying to fall asleep.

Like Neo13x. I rarely use any change -- always hoping to get something , I guess.

You drop a box of pennies on your wood floor, and decide rather than picking them up to take to the bank to dump them, you go get more and dump them out and covering it all with resin to have a penny floor.

You think about coins when you should be thinking about other things ...... like in the middle of time sensitive standardized testing.

My fiancée has become accustomed to handing over cash and coins when we are shopping, so I can inspect them for anything odd/rare/collector-worthy, etc. One time she did this, some lady at the grocery store started criticizing me for what she thought was my controlling the purse strings. I explained what I was doing, though I am pretty sure this just served to confuse her even more.

You're always scanning that cup of pennies next to the till (you know, for those that may be a penny or two short) for a Wheat cent.

When you have three of one type and I can only have one, but I don't want go let any of the duplicates go...for one reason or another.

I like edweather's comment "...you try to see every coin listed on ebay"...I can definitely relate.
