I really enjoyed the Wait for me Daddy twoonies and I can't wait to see the Sir John A. coins.

How about a commemorative Bank of Canada ten dollar note for just one year?

I agree, the Wait for me Daddy toonies are great. Bimetallic coins work well with a central design, preferably having some sort of symmetry (especially on the new design toonies, considering the placement of security features). The HMS Shannon one was also well done. I'll be waiting ti see how they design this one.

The Quebec City twoonie was a dud though.

And yes, thanks skip, I will be watching the Mint's website.

I haven't found a Quebec toonie yet, but IMO they left too much blank space on their design. It looks rather empty.

"The artist's initials, GG, are to be imprinted on the Macdonald coin."

I take it they saw a preview drawing. Why not us?!

With the Shannon and Wait for Me Daddy, the RCM has finally used the canvas well. It's a challenge given the naturally tendency to use the border to separate design.
