I notice there's an unattributed Snow-8 on ebay: 361151459656 Seems that others know what it is too. Looks like there's a rim bump at 4:30, but maybe you want it? Just over 5 hours left! Here are the markers: It's my 9999th post Edited by DVCollector 12/20/2014 12:42 pm

Its an interesting variety and probably carries a nice premium in higher grades. However, with this amount of wear it makes it difficult to see all the markers, and I would probably pass on this coin or at least would not pay much of a premium for the variety. BTW DV, congratulations on reaching 10K. At my rate of posting, I don't believe I will ever reach that milestone.

I consider it desirable/worth some premium in this grade because it's a sought-after variety and many of the markers are still visible--and no doubt more under a good lens. Thanks! I'm always posting something, so 10K came up rather fast!

Also saw this one. With the rim damage and possibility of it being bent, I passed. The search continues for a problem free example of one

Yeah, that variety is one of the top two MPDs of the entire series. Both occur in 1870, and the other one has a DDO and a RPD!

If it is unattributed, why are you calling it a Snow 8? You have attributed it! I know... you mean it was unattributed by seller. You have a keen eye so thanks for letting us know. ebay doesn't let us zoom in like that. What do you do? Save a picture file and blow it up yourself? What common program does that?

You can just hold ctrl key on the keyboard and use your mouse-wheel to zoom in and out of webpages.

I should clarify--the detailed photo I put above with the markers pointed out...is my own coin (a higher grade). Once you're familiar with the markers on this MPD, it's easy to spot even in lower grades.
