Found this while going through my wheat cents. The B in liberty is filled. Is this an error coin? Sorry for the poor pictures. It's the best I could do.
What you are seeing there is referred to as Die Chips. It is where part of the die breaks off. What you see is very common and in small instances like yours don't really bring a premium. It isn't so much an error as it is a state of the die striking the coin.
The post that would have formed the center of the device has broken off. These are great markers as all coins after that event will show this broken post. The 1909P-1DO-002 is a classic example: http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mds Note the marker on the "B" on LIBERTY.
Might want to check the mint mark if not already for notching or doubling. Lots of them listed for this year. Seen one LDS listed with a die chip in the lower B in Liberty. Thanks, Doug.
edit: Follow-up showing an example, not saying this one is yours.
