Here is one of my early Christmas presents:

Copper alloy jeton of Hans Schultz I, master at Nuremberg in 1553 to 1584

I am not sure what NORPED stands for. I was thinking the NORNBE stood for Nuremberg.

So hard to find pictures, but there are evidently variants reading SANTVS MARCVS NORMPE, and SANTVS MARCVS ZVNOS. As well, there are other Schultes jetons bearing a legend HANS SCHULTES ZV NORMPE. So seems we are getting closer to the explanation of NORPED as a very blundered abbreviation for "Nuremberg."

maybe norped is : nor ( norimbergae : of nuremberg ) and ped an other abbreviation , meaning something like 'patron ' . Albert

I have a very similar one, mine also has the name Hans Schultes, twice. I haven't made sense of the rest of the legends though

Yes, it certainly is Mitchiner#1382, just had a look - but he doesn't explain 'NORPED' either.

But he clearly attributes this Jeton with the rosette between Hans and Schultes to Hans Schultes II (master from at least 26/11/1596 to his death in 12/03/1603)
