Fields are dripping with lustre. Reverse fields aren't the cleanest though, a few light scratches at wingtip. Frosty obverse, but lots of friction at the high points.

Personally I would say its a high XF...only because I feel your low points have a bit too much wear on the reverse to grade AU...just my opinion tho..sweet loonie eh bud!? Haha

A solid ms64.

I just don't see any 'AU' in this coin's grading future.

MS63 Cameo.
The missing frosting does not deter it from being an MS Grade
& I believe there is enough frosting from the photos anyway, to grade it Cameo.

So missing frosting doesn't indicate wear?

It absolutely does...basically you are saying the proofing "wore" off...but doesn't count as wear? Weird...

I was more refering to the chip ob the queens throat, plus the deep gouges in the back field...I may be wrong as lighting is tricky. Id love to see how close we all were...SLAB IT!

Typical of a coin from an original roll or $100 bag. UNC as issued but really only a bullion coin this scuffy.

The hair bun above the ear is a strike issue with these 1967 dollars and NOT a wear problem. This part of the devices is almost always weakly struck. What the smart collector will look for on a circulation strike 1967 dollar is a well struck coin (both sides) that has almost completely mark free fields and blast white lustre. Settle for nothing less. An astute buyer can cherry pick a nice coin for little money if they are patient. The ICCS population of these coins in MS65 has exploded over the past 3 or 4 years. There are even 66 and 67 coins available.

Thanks for the tips Pacific, appreciate it! Looks like the RCM has similar strike issues in the high relief nickel dollars.

So a mint state cameo can get "scruffy" and gives the illusion of wear just by being in a mint bag.
How much frosting is needed for a "cameo"? Is there a definite measure for it or is it subjective too?
