I received a Nice looking 1912 Barber quarter from my "Secret Santa" and would like to know the grade of it.
I am very bad at pcgs photo grading
ALSO: the backside had bad lighting and QUARTER is a bit faded looking but in reality its pretty sharp

I thought it looked like a XF45-AU50 when looking at photograde. Well I was far off...

Sometimes, you need to judge the reverse. I photograde your coin a VF20

I was only judging the obverse, I felt the reverse was good enough.
Thank you everyone!

I like using Numismedia as a guide.

Oh, sorry my expertise is the dimes and not the quarters.
However, I have scraped through a few junk boxes and your secret Santa did NOT pull this quarter from a junk box!

If I recall correctly the gift should be about $10 and I'd like to think that your Santa has come in on the mark.
Gosh darn, it is a nice looking quarter.

I think it just makes VF-20. Beautifully original surfaces, love that chocolatey-gray color, especially on the reverse.

VF20. Nice.

I'd skip the grading service though - not warranted for a common date coin typically.
