An 1856 Flying Eagle with fuzzy photos, a funny looking 6 and a seller with "0" feedback that is bid up to $1,425.

I'm no Flying Eagle expert, but this doesn't look good to me.

Zoiks! Bad pictures. Yeesh.

I wouldn't touch it with a 39.5' poll.

Anyone bidding that kind of money with those kind of photos of a raw example of one of the most commonly forged U.S. coins - well, what else is there to say?

Even with those super lousy pictures I am not feeling the love. Stay away, stay far, far away. This is a coin that should only be bought certified by 99% of collectors.

Best Regards,

Definitely stay away. I can't believe this has gone so high without at least good photos. Either some shills are bidding it up or there's a lot of suckers out there.

In the early days of ebay, I could get good deals since many sellers either could not post decent pictures or had no pictures. In today's world for a coin that if authentic would be high value, crappy pictures are just a total red flag. Plus, there is a reason this is not in a TPG holder. Zero feedback doesn't help, but we all had that at one time.

I suspect the seller's ebay account will be quickly deleted.

And, don't forget about his counterfeit 1877 Indian cent:

Love the way he has 2 real cheap Indian cents thrown in on the deal to make it look legit.

Very suspicious. But the 1909 s vdb looks like it might be real. If it's a fake, it's a good fake.

the buyer's account looks like a hijacked account.
I think the sale was rigged.

I do due diligence on a $40 coin, and these guys throw 5k at the wind. Wow!
