A couple days ago, I stumbled across an article about the Henning Nickel. I admit, I had never heard of this counterfeit coin before. I have been roll searching nickels the past few years and have pulled 4-5 rolls of 1940's non-silver coins from circulation. While the odds seemed small, I decided to go through those rolls in the safe and I believe I have found a Henning! I want the experts on here to chime in but it looks like the real(fake) deal! lol
Thank you in advance for your replies.
Josh

Grainy surface, no mint mark, hole in the 'R', sure looks like one to me! Nice find!

Do a browse to confirm the year, but it does look to be a Henning (there is a Henning site out there). Nice to go back through your lot and find a potential diamond in the rough! Good luck.
Rest in Peace

Looks good to me, but I'm not an expert.

This thread needs to be in Modern Errors and Varieties, I think.

It is probably worth more than you think, even though it is a counterfeit.

Finding a nickel - nickel in a silver year has to be a unique experience. Very cool!

Looks like the real deal. (As it were...)

One of the Classic Counterfeits, as I've called it elsewhere.

Congrats. :-)
