I got my Christmas present to myself in the mail the other day, a proof Barber half dollar to complete my set of proof Barber coinage, and I couldn't be happier!

Here's the complete set for your viewing pleasure:

Barber-Coinage-Proof-Set Barber-Coinage-Proof-Set

Barber-Coinage-Proof-Set Barber-Coinage-Proof-Set

Barber-Coinage-Proof-Set Barber-Coinage-Proof-Set

And, just to round off the set (since there aren't any Barber Dollars):

Barber-Coinage-Proof-Set Barber-Coinage-Proof-Set

Thanks. I've really been developing a thing for classic proof coins lately...

If you like that then I would put together a 20 century proof set. I did it and I was so glad I did

Lovely indeed ... might even inspire me to purse a Barber proof type set.

I'll trade you a rock and some pocket lint...

In all seriousness, those are stunning coins, but you're missing Barber's Liberty 5 cent! You can get those in proof pretty cheap. Well, relatively cheap, anyway...

Edit: Boy, the strike is amazing on those!

Ah, you guys are right. Barber designed the Liberty nickel so I should have included the nickel to begin with:

Barber-Coinage-Proof-Set Barber-Coinage-Proof-Set

I'm still looking to get a proof Seated Liberty half dime, btw, and then I'll have my Seated Liberty proof set complete as well.

barryg lovely set is also missing all the classic commemorative attributed to Charles E. Barber during his tenure as US Mint chief engraver.

I could list them - but the purpose of this thread is not to collect every Barber designed coin. Hence ... IMHO ... the Liberty nickel is superfluous to this post.

I politely suggest that a lovely set can indeed be made from the examples shown ... dime, quarter and half.

These are the 'Barber' coins that most remember ... and barryg tremendous proof examples are all well representative of the series.
