Looking at some of my halfs for doubling, found a couple that I didn't see listed in the Charlton varieties.Here is the first,flat back 9, narrow date, doubling at top and top right of final 4, what do you think pginrh, does it look legit?

Of course it is legitimate. Lots of this doubling and re punching went on in the George VI halves of the mid 1940's.

Since the last two date digits were manually entered into the die, for most of the 1941-1949 dies, there are all kinds of oppotunities for a slight off-punch on one of the impressions. Sure looks like a 4/4 to me.
