Discrimination!

What about all those not living north of Mexico?

But I did refrain from voting NO.

I didn't vote because they are the nominated rules for this thread.

As a parallel, there are a huge number of varieties of Victorian British pennies. Quite a few books have been written on the subject.
I don't remember seeing a single proposal to initiate a new sub forum within the CCF on the varieties relating to the British penny.

Yeah, I found that supremely odd. Many people collect pre-confederation issues, and I'd bet a good percentage don't live anywhere near Canada.

Glad you fixed it.

I have an 1858 and an 1859 large cent but I am not interested in varieties or any other coins of this vintage so I voted no - in the sense that no, I would not use it.
But you should not look at the number of "no's". Just look at the number of yes votes. If enough people will use then go ahead and do it. The "no" is irrelevant.

We usually create new forums when they are necessary, not when they are requested.

The 'Canadian Coins, Bank Notes, and Paper Money' forum does not get enough traffic right now (page one goes back three weeks) to necessitate a split. For what it is worth, the last split in this forum was when we created the 'Canadian Commemoratives and Non-Circulating Coinage (NCLT)' forum.

Bring all of your old copper friends, start posting a lot, and then maybe we will have to split out to a new Pre-Confederation forum.
