JS Gold & Coin founder a no-show in court

Thought that these news stories would be of interest to the forum. Certainly shines a light on the Cash-For-Gold business. Just a few years ago during the big precious metals run-up this company seemingly came out of nowhere and was bombarding local television, radio stations, and billboards with advertisements. You couldn't watch Cincinnati television stations 30 minutes without seeing several of this operation's ads trying to get you to part with your gold, silver, and rare coins. I believe they had almost a dozen locations at one point and were rapidly expanding, much to the dismay of many of the more established in the area. Then the precious metals market peaked and the music stopped. Some of their locations are still open but many have been sold to new owners.

I remember the JS Gold and Coin ads here in Cincinnati. Didn't realize they imploded but now that you mention it, they have disappeared.

p.s. Cincinnati is in SW Ohio...

JS Gold & Coin founder resurfaces years after his business crumpled, hoping to strike gold again
http://www.wcpo.com/news/insider/js...e-gold-again

Quote:
WCPO discovered that Saylor, who still owes tens of thousands in court judgments, has been soliciting customers to sell unwanted jewelry, coins, gold or silver on a private social neighborhood network in recent months.

Saylor also has an online company based in Loveland, River City Gold & Coin, which does not have a brick-and-mortar office, according to the website, but buys gold and silver by meeting customers in coffee shops, parks, libraries or their homes.

This guy also posts advertisements frequently on the local Craigslist offering to purchase collections. He claims to be able to pay "top dollar" since he doesn't have any overhead. The phone # he uses was associated with his former businesses. I wonder how many collections he has offered to him through his online venues, according to the article he is heavily promoting through social media.
