Anyone know the mintage of the 2013 %50 New Liberty Dollar rounds.

The best source is likely here:

Check ebay for others available.

Everything you never wanted to know about NORFED:

The last administration's FBI abused their power (yet another example) and made an illegal raid in 2007 to seize everything the owner of these had with the intent of taking him out of business. Their goal was also to put a scare into people who would legitimately question the Federal Reserve and to anyone who used these NORFED dollars.

The FBI put out messages in the media saying the NORFEDs were illegal to use (bogus statement) and also that the NORFEDs might be confiscated. You can read the court trial docs to see the kangaroo court that was held. The owner was called both a counterfeiter and a domestic terrorist.

The problem was NORFED was totally legal and was not the only one producing silver 1 ounce pieces to use as money - which is totally legal. The problem is that NORFED was gaining enough followers/users/popularity, and also educating people to the reality of our fiat money system, that the Feds perceived NORFED as a threat to their system. So NORFED had to be shut down. The threat of US people preferring an actual silver-based money would rob the Fed of their power to create money out of nothing - thereby ruining their control of the economy.

After a record number of years of no sentencing (never the intent) of the owner/maker, the FBI admitted everything done was wrong. The FBI was to return the actual stolen items (not just the value - which is uncommon). I do not know if the goods have been returned yet or not.

Absolute power - corrupted absolutely - committed a high level crime while knowing they would never be prosecuted for it.

Through all of this, the government had their goal realized - the NORFED coins fell from their former popularity and people were scared to have/use them.

All through this time I did have ebay notify me of every new NORFED auction daily. Although the auctions never did completely stop, the number of auctions dropped from a couple new pages of auctions per day to only 3-5 new postings a day.

I do not know how much the mainstream media ever covered (surprise, surprise) this story of the total vindication of NORFED and the corrupt use of the FBI in this case - the story should have made headlines. I think it very likely there are still a people out there only aware of the FBI raid who might still be cautious of using NORFED Dollars.

I am in a town that actually used these regularly - this is why I am familiar with the story. I also had/have the owner's email updates throughout all of this sham. The things he claimed were verifiable (which I did) by seeking the actual sources.

Thanks.. it has an interesting history - and I have collected some of the previous 2006-2009 examples..
There is very little update on the 2013 (and scarcer 2012) ones... and to me these are just as interesting.

Difficult to buy from the new Liberty Dollar site.
So little written about them.
Did I read that the 2013s were minted to help fund his court case?

Whatever - in several years I have seen some 2013 $50s at a LCS, a few $ above spot.

Cant say no.

Oops - sorry - should have read your original post closer. I thought I saw 2003 - not 2013.

Admittedly the rest of this is from memory.

When the NORFED maker was still awaiting sentencing, he sold the rights to his design to another peron who wanted to continue making Liberty Dollars. The new guy (sorry I don't remember his name) upped the purity so the new ones would not have held up as well in daily use. He also made sure to "correct" what the bogus points were that the court used to say Bernie (original NORFED owner Bernard

I did have an email from him when he started out - but cannot find it.

Try contacting Dave Gillie - the guy who owns this restaurant:

He was one of the big NORFED distributors when they came out and has answered questions I have had in the past. He may even have some.
