LAMC = Landstuhl (Germany) Army Medical Center whose post office address was APO 180.

I looked for ECN 1297 but could not find anything meaningful.

Probably dates from late 1950s - early 1960s.

There are collectors of these items but most do not go for much money.

Again Thank you lettow.
I do not want sell this bill.
A former US Soldier wrote here to me that his time in Landstuhl was so great. Maybe he can remember these bills.
If he want this bill, then I will send him a little part of his own history.
If he does not read this or he has no interest for this bill, then I'll keep up this bill.

hajduk;
I'm not so sure it is a form of currency, but just a ticket purchased for 50 cents for admission to the Officers Club on base. LAMC was home for me from '69-'70. We used and were paid in US currency. There was an exchange on base, where we could get German Marks for our currency. But in many cases, the German people would gladly take our money, which was 4 Marks to the Dollar at that time.

This was part of a chit book used for meals in the mess. The chit booklets were issued for BAS instead of payments in cash.

After reading this post again, that might have been me that wrote you about my time in Landstuhl. It has been at least a couple years ago.
While I was never in the Officer's Club, I did eat in the NCO club a couple times. I was attached to 2 Ambulance companies that shared a Mess Hall, where I was a cook for 8 of my last months in the service. My primary MOS was a Medic, but a call went out for cooks, and I went.
It was really a good time in my life.
