It only costs about $25 or so per coin if you can find somebody who is willing to let you place it on their submission.

I have to agree with MorganGrader here. While the reverse looks pristine, the obverse shows some signs of circulation. I may be wrong, but I have to give this an AU58, on a good day it might go MS60. I hope I am wrong, but it's just how I see it.

Yeah, but I'll bet it crosses to an SGS MS67.

It would cost a lot, but it would be an interesting hypothetical to send this coin to all of the most used grading services, just to find out how large the grading range for this coin in particular, and for 'sliders' in general, can be.

The collector has often had to face the alternatives;
send to a lower fee TPG, and hope for a generouis grade,
or
send to a higher fee TPG, that is known to grade conservatively, and achieve a grade that more buyers can accept.

I really like to make my own mind up about grading before deciding to buy. The age old considerations of price vs condition always still come into play. For this reason, I prefer 'raw' coins, and to examine each coin 'in hand' first.
