1934 Great Britain shilling - this coin was redesigned by Kruger Gray in 1927, but retained the 'Lion on Crown' design, which appeared in one form or other on all English shillings from 1902 to 1952. As with all pre-decimal shillings and the larger size 5p coins, this shilling ceased to be legal tender on January 1, 1991:

Starting 1933 with another British coin, but not a penny as I haven't got one! Only about 7 are known to exist.

This is another of Kruger Gray's designs, the 1933 florin. The four coats-of-arms in a cross shape had been a feature of English silver coins since 1662, but on this coin the shields were placed in a diagonal cross, which I think was most attractive:

... and here's the coin's big brother, the Wreath Crown:

Nice 1933 coins NumisRob

Seeing all the nice ...not sure what is proper wat to call the UK? GB?,

But seeing all the nice ones you are posting is going to make me want more.

I don't see many of those Crown size coins in our foreign silver bins.

Thanks for posting them ....
