I have recently purchased this coin and am waiting on it to arrive. These are the best photos I have of the coin. From what you can see, are there any issues? Is there any reason to think this is not authentic? I purchased two other coins with it. An 1893-P & 1893-CC. Both of the other coins are around XF, this appears to be AU or better from the photo. Wont know until it arrives, though for the price it feels to good to be true and usually is. Your opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance for your help! Doesn't look right to me. It seems to be "flat" and the luster is a little strange.

I hope you have a money back guarantee. The photos themselves are inconclusive. We would need to see a close up of the date, mint mark and the letter R of LIBERTY in the headband.

That coin in AU condition, is a $20,000+ coin. If you paid any less than that, you have reason to be concerned.
Fuzzy pictures on an under priced $20,000 coin do not bode well for it's authenticity

The fact that it's not certified by one of the big 3. makes me concerned. also need sharper photos obv.and rev.

The details look like XF or lower.

Higher quality pics are a must and even then we cannot be 100% sure of authenticity.
As I always say..... "Key date coins that are not in 3rd party graded holders are not in holders for a reason".

The pictures are inconclusive for both grade and authenticity. Given the price point if genuine, this could prove problematic.

Can't tell anything from these pics. Not in a TPG alone is a red flag.

There is a money back guarantee, I never make a purchase without one. Person has perfect feedback with several recent thousand dollar + sales. Person claims they are in their 70's and unloading old collectibles. When I get it I will post high-detailed photos. For the price, I had to roll the dice. The photos are not that great, none of them in his other auctions are though all have very positive feedback. If it turns out to be real I will be elated, though I am preparing for the worst. Thank you all for your opinions!

Even with the blurry photos, it appears to me pretty certain that the "1" in the date is not aligned with the denticles as it should be for a genuine specimen, and I'd add that that bodes ill for the authenticity of the other two coins, sight unseen.

I noticed the same apparent abnormality as Lucky Cuss. I strongly suspect it's a fake, but the pics are too blurry to say for sure. It's highly unlikely that a costly coin like this would not be ensconced in a top tier slab.

Best to await any brain engagement until better images are available. It's not like we don't know the pickups for an 1893-S; we'll get it one way or the other.

If it's fake, maybe the seller bought it thinking it was real himself?

93-S mint coins usually have very sharp dates and lettering. This coin almost looks like an "O" mint coin.
