Here is an nickel I came across and was wondering if it there may be a premium for this type of error since I have never ran across one like it before. Thanks in advance for any info given.

Since nickels aren't plated it is not that.

I would guess environmental damage.

It would probably turn back to the original color just carrying in your pocket. Making an antiqued look on your coin.
