Just wondering looking at a few Australian price lists that the 1915H half penny with a mintage of 720k and the 1930 half penny with a lower mintage of 638k.
What makes the 1915 so much more expensive?

It's like triple the price of the 1930..

Numbers available are about similiar I would say.
But there are many more collectable grade 1930s available than 1915s.

1915s are usually found in very low grade - Good or VG.
As such not really collectable.
An average 1930 is a nice VF.

Agree with Echidna, 15 extra years of circulation takes it's toll.!

High grade 1930 Halfpennys are much easier to find than high grade 1915H Halfpennys.
1915H Halfpennys saw much more circulation, being issued only four years after the withdrawal of British coins from Australian circulation.

Thank you gentlemen for the response..

The reason I asked was, I can get a 1915H in F12 for $10.00 Can. and since I don't have that date was wondering how good that is?..or was even worth collecting?

As long as its damage free $10 is a reasonable price.
