Looking in the catalogue, can't see any variety with the British Flag that is worth half that in uncirculated condition. Maybe I'm missing something or their is a rare variety.
I suspect this is Lees variety 22. If it is, the buyer got a steal. I was in the auction and was watching and considering competing, but the bidding quickly exceeded my funds.
You know your addicted to coin collecting when... you buy a token for $1400 because of a simple hard to see and hard to notice variety if it even is a variety.
The Lees 22 is a mighty rare token. The Rarity factor is 10. Why a 1859 RP 9 #1 Vicky Cent more valuable than a generic 59 Vicky, after all, it is merely a 'variety.' The Lees 22 is the key variety within the series.
