This is a ugly duckling scenario, so bear with me
Found this 99 GA
State Quarter in pocket change, it's been in general circulation for 16 years, it went unnoticed all that time, all of it's previous owners tossed it away.....not me.
It's ugliness drew me to it, I showed this coin to many reputaple collectors, and like the others, shunned it away, I knew there was something I could do to show it's true beauty. Today, I did some googling and had a flashback while reading an article on an 1800's english copper tea urns.
I used to use ketchup for cleaning copper wire for field connections on electrical wire, a trick from an old friend from my youth (works like a dream).
I dipped the quarter in ketchup for 15 minutes, washed it off with water and all that tarnish was hiding a beautiful coin.
Is this real or what?
