I've covered this for the Memorial dies, so I thought I would add information for wheat cents as well. I have a guide of how many coins were struck if the dies average one million. They can average plus or minus as they all have events that happen to them and retire them earlier or be continued to be used beyond that number. I tried to put the need information on the image, so when you save the image, the information goes with it. But of the one million 750,000 are in the die states less desired in my eyes.

The die wear on wheat cents varied because of clashing/breaks/cracks/cuds/excessive die wear. But the cracks/breaks probably determine how much longer they were used. The get pretty mushy when they reach the VLDS as you will see.

The reason I gave numbers, it to make collectors of how die state should make a difference on price. So when looking to buy a coin, check for the earlier die states. I feel they will be noticed as time goes on, but get aboard now when buy your choice coins.

Note die flow and die wear on these images and you will be training your eyes to see beauty and not a worn out dies coins.

I was actually able to answer cookiemonster's question yesterday using this thread. I'm very happy that this knowledge is getting passed down to the new coin collectors. I can tell you that I've learned a lot from you as well. Well done!
