I simply don't have the words, so I'll let the picture speak. Edited by OldSkoolMadSkilz 01/28/2015 10:10 pm

First impression - he looks sad. I was not expecting this - was expecting something more like the halves. I still want one to put with the halves though.

I like the depictions of the first two president but dislike the last two. I wish they had gone with a frontal on Kennedy and LBJ just doesn't look right.

This whole coin series has gone from bad to worse. They made him look like he is 65 in this photo If it didn't have a name on it could you tell it was supposed to be this man?

I'm not a Presidential dollar collector (and being in Canada, I'm not going to see them either), but it's a bit strange compared to the rest because the other presidents don't look downwards. The first thing I thought when I saw the design is that they were making it look like this painting of him:

He's sad because he realized that his coin looks nothing like him, and the elephant skin jacket he is wearing is getting heavy.

That's not a bad one. I'm OK with innovative angles on coin portraits.

It's not the angle that bothers me. It's the fact that it doesn't look anything like him. And I can't stop looking at his right shoulder to figure out what's going on there. The perspective is way off.

Here is a webpage where they have posted the design candidates of the dollars: http://mintnewsblog.com/2014/03/201...not-present/They did pick an odd one for Kennedy. I don't know what he actually looks like (nor I am good with faces) so I'm not going to comment on his appearance.

Well I'm glad they didn't choose Ice Sculpture Kennedy (JFK-05). Some horrible artwork on that page.

I actually think it would be amazing if they had used a downward-facing portrait for those presidents who died in office or were assassinated. Half-mast US flag on the reverse.
Ah well, hindsight is 20/20...

That is a terrible depiction of JFK.

If they were basing the coin on that painting... I remember hearing or reading that the painting was actually based on Robert Kennedy (it was painted after JFK's assassination), which is why the interesting angle. Edit: This ( http://www.omgfacts.com/lists/9946/...ial-Portrait ) iffy source was the only one I could find right now that says this, so maybe it's not true.

I would have picked JFK04, but this one isn't as bad as the remaining choices. I do not think it is all that bad.
