Hi Levi, and welcome to the forum. I'm not sure where to find varieties for Ike's, but someone should be along soon to help you out. I don't have the time right now, but did you do a basic google search or use our forums search engine to find this info? http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/search.asp

The type 1 & 2 is on the 1776-1976 Bicentennial dollars. There are a few doubled dies, but not much interest is shown for them.

When I began completing my Ikes I googled Eisenhower types , you should be able to get alot of information that way. There are three types of reverse strikes for the 1971, 1972, 1973 coins and two types for the 1976 coins. The easiest way to see the difference in the 1971-73 strikes is to go out and get the "Blue" Eisenhower dollars , they have each reverse in order ie. 1971 has type one reverse, 1972 has type two reverse , and 1973 has type 3 reverse. Those coins are about 5-7 each . For the 1976 types you should be able to find pictures online that show the differences pretty clearly. Happy hunting ..and be on the lookout for the 1972 type 2 reverse , they are pretty scarce and worth a pretty good premium.

I've heard of three types on quarters. 1956-1964. The type "A" is the common business strike. The type "B" is a proof reverse on a business strike coin. Type "C" is a 1965 reverse on a 1964 Business strike coin. The difference is the spacing of the letters and a few details on design. Type A is common. Type B can be seen on all proofs, but struck on a business strike planchet with the obverse a business die. https://www.coincommunity.com/forum...4TypeB_C.jpgThe type C is the new reverse for the 1965, but used to strike some 64 reverses.

If you want to find out everything there is to know about Ike dollars there is a guy on a web site called jmscoins. He is some kind of super expert on them. He has registered sets of them, deals with them, writes articles about them. You can either join his web site free, or just go there and ask any question you want. His adds say specializing in High Grade Eisenhower dollars, Cameo Proofs, etc. If you are ever in the Chicago area, he goes to all the local coin shows. He is very willing to sit you down and talk, talk, talk Eisenhower dollars untill you fall asleep. Really a nice guy though.
