I read about this type of error and how it came to be but I am not able to recall where and I don't remember how this error happened.

The only thing I do remember is that it's called bow-type error or something like that. Does anyone know about this kind of error? I found this in a circulated bank roll.

I've never seen one like that before, looks like something blocked part of the coin from the elements while the other part was exposed, weird

thingee,

I think this may be the bow-tie error that you are referring to-http://www.fredweinberg.com/invento....asp?ID=4752

Yes. Biochemist. That was the kind of bowtie I read about a while ago. And when I found this bow-shaped-tie design penny that's what came to mind. That real bow time thing is pretty cool.

How can someone make the type that I found. CC said glue. But how?

Any material that is viscous and coats the coin - usually glue. A blow torch or any other surface damaging chemical, heat, or exposure...then the glue is removed, exposing an untouched portion of surface without damage. Done. Simple.

And here I thought that coin was made during a time when Lincoln changed cloths.
