I have the materials, so why not? I need somewhere to keep my 2x2s, and I'd rather make one than buy a box. Just cut along a few lines then glue. The whole size of cardstock/paper is used, no need to cut out anything. 14 copper penny rolls and the base isn't buckling from the weight. I can't fit any more than that.

Easy to build up skill to make really good boxes out of corrugated cardboard. Craft card is more expensive. I use rubberized cement for glue. That stuff on cardboard never lets go!

Did you use archival material?

Very resourceful...
Instead of card stock I have in the past used old file folders as well as cereal boxes. Both are very ridgid paper products that with a couple well placed staples will hold up to being full of 2x2's with coins in 'em

kanga... never thought of using archival quality products to hold my coin holders before... you make a good point... I'm just glad most of my coins really have intrinsic value

I'm not entirely certain, I just have some lying around that's unused. I just need something to put my circulated Indonesian coins in. They're not worth much and I doubt it ever will. Most of them top out at around $1 in UNC while the highest one only goes about to $5-$6, and I don't have that one.

If you can talk your local bank into giving up a used/not needed toonie box , it holds 100 2x2s very nicely. I also went to my local dollar store and found some great stacking plastic bin boxes, 3 for a buck, also hold 100 2x2s. These are very inexpensive methods I use.

Clear thin stiff sheet PolyvinylACETATE makes great 2x2 coin flips. That's the plastic material used as packaging for shirt boxes, toys, tools and batteries.
Just cut it into 2x4's, fold in the middle, and staple. Can also be used to strengten standard mylar / cardboard 2x2's and 2.2x2.5's, as an insert if needed.

I do have a toonie box but it's full of miscellaneous rolls and papers and smaller coin supplies. Good to know they fit 2x2s.
Hmm, DIY 2x2s. They sound easier to stapler than the regular cardboard ones.
