zxcccxz Pillar of the Community Canada 5417 Posts	Posted 02/18/2015 7:40 pm EF-45 easy, toning is certainly questionable, and the hairlines don't help either. My guess is, this coin was cleaned and then someone tried to hide the cleaning under artificial toning, by the looks of it, some sort of rapid sulfur toning, likely from a boiled egg. Everest Pillar of the Community Taiwan 606 Posts	Posted 02/19/2015 07:48 am PCGS will assign a numeric code to problem coins.In this case a 92 which indicates an improperly cleaned coin. NGC will assign a details grade with an explanation to a problem coin. In both cases neither PCGS or NGC will attribute a problem coin with a numeric grade. If you want a problem coin to receive a numeric grade and an explanation you will have to send it to ICCS. PCGS and NGC have very accessable web sites explaining their grading methods.
