Hello all, I just received 2 sets of the 2015 Kennedy half dollar's and was wondering,

Do you break the seal on the boxes? Will that do anything to the resale value IF I ever decide to part with them?

OR

Do I go all out and open the rolls themselves and search?

One of the boxes is time stamped 11:43:33 and the other, 11:44:48. Both on the 29th of Jan.

What are your opinions/thoughts?

Dar

Well, it's just a boring white box if you don't open it. What's the fun in that?

I imagine there might be a modest premium for a sealed box because then there's less chance of funny business and/or damage to the ends and coin roll wrapper.

Maybe open one and keep the other if you intend to sell one later.

It depends on your reason for buying them really. Since these are NIFC, there is value in the individual coins. You could break it and then just keep the best and sell the rest individually. I'm sure collectors looking for individual coins would buy them to fill holes.

I'd open everything. I'm just curious as to what things are when you can't see them. AND too I always remember stories about people buying something in a box and when opened, turned out to be a box loaded with bricks.

I'd say, open one, keep the other closed. See if you can sell some of the ones from the open roll. If you think its worth it, then crack open the other one. I'd be overwhelmed with curiosity when I didn't open at least one.

I just placed my order tonight for the 2-roll P&D set. I intend to open the box but not break the rolls.

How's that for no help at all?

I think what I'm going to do is the same thing I did when I bought 1 bag each of the 2014 Native American dollars.

Open them up, put them in the plastic Koin-tainer roll holders I have and pick through them for the best pair to put in the Albums.

Use the rest for traders or something.

What the heck. I haven't heard of any error's yet. Ya never know.
