I try to keep some cash on me in case a good deal is offered to me. Today I came across these two Indians. I think I am starting to like $2.50 gold coins. They seem to fall into my comfort level, as far as coin prices. I have no idea where my collection focus should be going, but I do like $2.50 gold. Even when I got home and saw I had a 1925 D, I don't feel bad for getting another. I may be able to use it for trade, if another date comes along. Not sure if I want to look at my type set, can't remember what the date of the one there is.

That is funny. I suffer from this all the time. Better known as CRS. ( Can't Remember________ ) fill in the blank. "Wait, do I have this one?" Hmmmm?

There is no such thing as too much gold! Nice purchase, and as you noted you can probably flip the duplicate for a different date at some point!

I got lucky ...the one in my type set is a 1929.
For a short set, I guess I am off to a good start
Edit ... I guess it is time to keep a list .....

I like them except for being the size of a dime. I tend to lose small coins.

I have to wonder how many gold $1.00 were lost. Just for fun, while back, I took some pictures that try to show the size difference of different denomination coins.

I like to carry coins. I'll buy cheap type coins that are heavily worn or polished just to throw in my pocket. I lost a beat-up 1856-s half eagle doing that, so I'm more careful. But not too careful...to avoid losing coins I now stick with quarter size or larger.
