Well, here's another little oddity out of my coin-vault... aka, the whiskey box... A 1973 penny, with John F Kennedy stamped onto it, as well as a card listing some rather interesting facts and co-incidences.

Enjoy.
(You may have to open it in another program that you can zoom-in with to see the additional stamping)

I have seen this one before. It was very popular to compare both presidents and the eerie similarities about their lives and deaths.

I've also seen Lincoln stamped on a Kennedy half.

I see them all the time. Random people that I work with sometimes show me and inquire to it's value. Every once in awhile someone does bring something cool though. The last item was a Braided Hair large cent the owner was so proud of he cleaned it a number of times to give it a nice shine.

Lincoln has been depicted on our cent for too long

Kennedy has been depicted on our half dollar for too long.

Rest in Peace

I liked coins before they had presidents on them...

Mercury dimes, Morgan dollars... these are my favorite coins. :D

I didn't mean to imply that I dissaprove of depicting former presidents on coins. I think this is most appropriate.

My point was Lincoln's been on the cent for 100 years, JFK on the half for 43.

Time for a change.

In high school we did a whole lesson one day comparing and contrasting Kennedy and Lincoln. Creepy!

I have a few of those around as well. Buried in the vault somewhere. Interesting tidbits of information. They fail to mention that one day they would be on the same coin facing off so to speak. : )

I've found 2 of these in rolls from the bank. One is a profile and the other a straight-on view. I wouldn't buy them but they were neat to find and I saved them.

George Washington never wanted presidents to have their images on coins, he said it was too much like european royalty
