CoinWeek Valued Member United States 127 Posts	Posted 02/24/2015 3:36 pm The following is an article excerpt from Coinweek I was having a conversation with client JF, and he told me about a way he collects coins which I thought was novel and neat enough to share with you. If you are familiar with wine collecting (and drinking) you know about verticals. A vertical wine collection is when an individual pursues different vintages of the same wine type (Bordeaux, Burgundy, etc.) from the same winery. An example of this would be a vertical set of Bordeaux from Chateau Lafite Rothschild bottled between 1985 and 2015. Read the Entire Article Report this Post to the Staff

While most of you might think that is a one coin collection, I specialize in die studies. So I'm trying to get some of each die combination. Various grades. PLs & DMPLs. Early middle and late die wear stages. Light and full strikes. And then some toners. A VAM slot might have 5 or 6 examples. My other collection is not nearly so picky retentive. Anything goes. Greek, Roman, cup coins, medieval, treasure, world, 7070 and Whitman folders. Report this Post to the Staff
