... you might want to check out the US modern variety sub-forum...

Welcome. Look like a lot of post mint damage though the quarter may have Machine Doubling. Open a new topic in the US modern coin section and I sure a lot of people will help you out.

to CCF! Your dime is what's commonly referred to as a " Dryer Coin". (Fell out of someone's pocket & spent a fair amount of time being heated & tossed around, smoothing out the edges & warping).

Judging by the date & state I'd wager it wasn't found until the dryer was serviced for repairs or scrapped all together. Looks like it lived in a dryer for years.

The nickel looks like something put something on it. Maybe concrete/soldier/epoxy or something else. Whatever it is a spendable as it is ruined.

Even the dime looks like it was damaged on purpose. People trying to create an error from a once was normal coin. The clue, the flattening of the rims is the first thing that jumps out at me. The flattening dents into the coin is another.

Spendable if anyone will take them?

The quarter I commented on in the other thread. MD

I think you want to hang onto the nickel and quarter. nickel just looks interesting and we can't always be sure with just photos. The quarter is for sure a DDO. The dime is sadly just a Dryer Coin as already stated.

The Nickel is PMD,someone got friendly with that Nickel in a bad way.

The Dime is a mess, could be a fail attempt at faking about 2 or 3 Errors.

The Quarter is MD,I would keep it but others would not, does it have a price yes as people are collecting MD not many but some. The Dark splat is not helpful for resale. I would keep it and put in a paper roll or jar label it MACH DOUBLEs. At times when you search change look out for MACH Triples those do have a pretty nice price tag.

New to collecting coins, well thats good to hear. I myself like what is called Off Center Cents, some sell at pretty low prices and are super hard to find in public change.

The reason they are hard to find in public change is that they are off shape most times to where they will not fit in rolls, along with the fact the mint does not make that Error often anymore and the mint finds that Error more then it did in the past. In the past Off Center coins were often in Mint Bags.

I will spend money for them. You can check some out on ebay, give a link here to the site when you find a listing,so others can give you the ok,after some time you will be able to make the call yourself.
Most like Off Center coins I think u will to.

I believe this is impossible. Md is common, spendable and not collectable, those who do collect md coins probably think they are rare dds. But a TRIPLE? No. It is not even doubling. When the coin is being ejected and the coin moves it is damaged in a shelf like way being flattened. It is only ejected once and not twice. I believe tripple md is impossible unless you show me a pic.

@Sudz,Thanks for the pic for all and including SilverStackerKid. I have a few Kenndey Half Dollar Mach Triples along with some Mach Triple Cents packed away.

@SilverStackerKid,Right MD its not even a Doubled Die and I know when I sell a MD I say Doubling not Doubled Die in the listing.

So if they think they are or do not care to research or not believe what I am writing in the listing then yes they think its a Doubled Die at their own doing.

They do sell and folks collect them that simple I do not spend them nor in my opinion should others. Hey its up to the searcher/picker to decide.

The machine is just that sloppy in the mechanism. It moves out of alignment during the strike.
