If it's a debenture.. it's not exactly a banknote... it's more like an I.O.U. and in this case done by the County of Brockville.
I'm not familiar with debenture notes that much but my guess is that the two currencies 25(pounds) or $100 indicated on the note would then refer to the type of payment one would receive depending on which side of the pond (ocean) one was at upon collecting this debt.
Looking at the link you provided from cdncoin.... on the back of the banknote you can see that the "I.O.U" was held over a great period of time with an interest rate accumulating 10-15% almost every 6 months... (FANTASTIC RATE OF RETURN!!)
However I would warn you if this is a note you're interested in purchasing... it does state that this note isn't certified BUT it does have an issue with foxing.
Foxing is a mold spore that will grow on paper... generally because at some point it has/had been exposed to a moist environment. Get this note restored... or at least certified and in an airtight slab before you place it next to any of your other notes... otherwise you could be in for a HEAP of trouble!
