I just can't say no to State Quarters. When a LCS get's to much surplus they offer me these sets, I think they know I can't say no to State Quarters. I think I keep buying them because I think I might start selling someday... I feel you have to have a lot of inventory, if your going to sell. There must be people here that think I am crazy ... because I think I am sometimes. I do think there would be a price point where most people would buy stuff like these too. Todays pick-ups 40 clad proof quarter sets (1999 - 2010) 7 Silver proof quarter sets (2004 - 2009) 3 - Clad proof sets (1999, 2000 and 2002) 4 - Silver proof sets (2001, 2002, 2004 and 2008) Oh and a Ben Franklin set in a Intercept shield album Because it is hard to say no. Feel free to give honest opinions ... Edited by GR58 02/26/2015 6:07 pm

Yeah, would be difficult to pass on that Franklin set if I had means and opportunity.

Interesting .. for some reason I have never really got into Franklin half dollars ... well I do like the Proofs .. I am not sure how many Franklin sets I have put together .. I always end up selling them. I am thinking the flash is making this set look better than it is. There are several nice BU coins .. more I think are AU/BU or less. I think the 49S is maybe VF/XF. This set is something that will sell for a little over what shops sell 90% silver at .. What I find is interesting .. is the first two post zero in on the Franklins .... Did I mention I like State Quarters ...

We all have our areas of interest. I understand Jbuck .. was kidding .. But I do find it interesting .. might be me ...liking State Quarters to much. But then I picked them up because they were a good price .. Never know I might try to start list coins on here someday.

I knew you were kidding, as was I. For what it is worth, I like my State Quarters, too. If you ever start selling, you might need to set aside a set for me.

Big fan of the silver State Quarters. When the price is right, I always pick up whatever I can afford. Of all the modern US coins out there, these are the ones I have most interest in and most hope for future price appreciation. They will probably be tied to melt value for quite some time still, but I can see them appreciating in value once we get past the special designs every year and back to the classic Washington quarter or something new. Personally I can't collect clad but if I did it would be the State Quarters, maybe the Ikes. Ikes are the only set I have where I include the clads.

That being said, I have never been in an LCS that didn't have some State Quarter clad sets. I often see people come in and just pick up new quarters or dollars or halves. There is some repeat business there. If you want to catch all the fish, you have to bring your fishing pole to all the fishing holes. Good advise all around really.

I have a soft spot for Franklyn halves as I collected most of the set from circulation and it was the first completed by me. I have not upgraded it and someday I may. as far as the quarters go I'm a single coin collector going for one example and then moving on to another coin I don't have.

The focus on the Franklins .. has me thinking about keeping this set .... switching it to a Dansco And upgrading some of the coins.
