The seller is taking advantage of the desirability of the Landon pedigree and fraudulently closing presales. The number of bid retractions from buyer3/4 is a clear sign...how many times have you retracted a bid? I know I have over the past 14 yrs on ebay retracted a few mistaken bids....but I cant remember the details......anyways kudos to gilles and any of you for making a formal security complaint to ebay ..its easy to do and if enough complaints are made I'msure they will investigate the seller .....

reported a couple of his items! if hes not booted I will call ebay. In my opinion ebay should be responsible to contact and refund all those who were taken advantage of by this crook. Otherwise they are just as guilty of fraudulant sales.

on a side note, if anyone know of someone who has purchased from this seller in recent history make them aware and check the bidding history for bid retractions and shilling.

I was looking for some Landon coins on ebay after being swept away by other bidders during legacy auction. I was wondering why some of these coins were still going for a lot more than I was expecting. Thank you for pointing this out. I'll definitely be looking at bidding history and seller's other items before taking part in any ebay auctions Much appreciated!

Great Thread.....I was lucky to take part in the Landon Auction and witnessed some amazing Coins. My two top Coin purchases were the 1905 MS67 and 1911 MS67 Canadian Large Cents. With regards to that other topic on crooked bidder I had him booted/blocked from my ebay site twice as he would buy a coin and wouldn't pay for it. The last name being Canadian-Coin-Collector with the first being ajsandhu18. I have his address and email in my buys list somewhere. .....this Guy needs to go for good!

There's so many red flags when you look at this seller. I looked at all his current auctions and the 3 or 4 that had more than 2 bids all involved buyer 3***4. When you look at the bid history and select to show automatic bids you can see the pattern they use to push up to the bid. 71% of the buyers bids have been with that seller, yet when I looked at the sellers feedback for the past year I never found any left from that buyer. You'd have to be pretty unlucky to lose out 100% of the time on so many bids. Then again I suppose it's possible they won and didn't leave feedback. Sure seems to be something fishy going on, I reported a couple of the items for ebay to sort out and decide.

Any of his auctions, present or past, with the under bidder account 3****4, should be reported to ebay. I reported about 40 of them. I was a bidder on one of them, and I usually give myself a bidding cushion, he plastered about 20 bids with his shill bidding account 3****4 to cash in on my absolute high bid. The more people report him, the quicker he will be booted off ebay.

I actually take the retractions one step further. As a seller, if someone retracts and doesn't rebid on my items and they have had others on record, I block them. The reason being is that they are generally fishing to see where the current bids is.

SO many people have reported this guy but hes still around. Legally, is not ebay responsible for his fraudulant practices if they keep in on the site and continuing to sell. ebay might be under legal obligation to take him off or they might face a serious lawsuit for knowingly doing business with a fruad artist. I wish we could locate someone who was duped by his shilling and then see what ebay says when they get a lawyers letter.

i would imagine the ebay process of investigating a seller would take some time and we cant expect this seller to be terminated right away but if theyve had lots of complaints and see the body of hard evidence it will result in a positive outcome and some buyer refunds......I hope we can get back to discussing the Landon Large Cents soon..and what effect this release will have on prices and availability..I think most of the MS65 and higher material will disappear into collections.
