Recently saw this posted at my online dealers site and am interested in purchasing it. He grades it as XF-45, and if that is the true grade, the price he is asking for it is very reasonable.

I apologize for the photo quality. Despite my best efforts, my coin dealer continues to post these sorts of shots. I have asked to see some photos of it under some brighter light to see if there is any hint of luster, but until then this is what I have to offer for grading:

Looks XF and may have reverse damage. Is it in a TPG holder?

Glad to hear it, it was just the first time I had ever come across a PCI holder before and did not know what to think of it.

The original pics look full on XF45. New pics closer to 40 Imo. I think it falls between

PCI went through a lot of owners and the quality of their work ranged from quite acceptable to atrocious. There appears to be a new PCI iteration currently slabbing coins with what looks like intent to be one of the atrocious ones. No way of knowing which generation yours is without the whole slab.

Seems to be a gash on the eagle on the reverse. I would be fine with XF-45 but unless that is struck-through it's gonnah get a "details' slapped onto it.

I'm at EF-40 for now but if it has a little bit of mint luster I could see a EF-45.
