It's most noticeable in the A's and pictures I take suck I know so I tried to get the proof I need. Is this a true DDR I notice on all the A's the tops have what is like a dent and comes to almost 2 points . It is a sms satin finish quarter I do t want to break it out of plastic unless I have to so turning to u guys first. It looks different the my D set of satin finish so there is something going on just don't know what exactly. If I need better pics I will try or I'm going to coops so he can take the picture for me lol

That is curious.
A dent in the device means that something was on the die or the planchet.

But on ALL of the A's on the reverse? That's odd.

It's a puzzle to me.

It either got dinged -- which would be remarkable since both A's are the same -- or it's a keeper.

I assume you ARE keeping it. Meanwhile, the hunt is on...maybe there's another one just like it out there.

I hope the microscope helps.

If not the next thing to do is go to shops and shows and look at everybody else's stuff until you find another one. Even then....does that mean it's a new variety? Or just similar damage?

The more I look at it, it might have received a glancing blow from the reeding on another coin?
