Hi, My wife got this box of coins from her Dad whom has passed...we are wondering how to go about putting a price on these coins.
We have started a photo gallery for the coins... link is here: http://postimg.org/gallery/20f6q6a3o/

Only 6 coins posted so far, but we have over a hundred others.
We would really appreciate ANY feedback.

Thanks!
Rest in Peace

one suggestion I can make, the images of the coins need to be much larger to show accurate detail and of both sides. I could easily see the writing, however I couldn't make out coin details. This is one thing collectors are fussy on, along with do not clean them. Cleaning will destroy any value. Always handle the coins by the edge, as fingerprints will also destroy value. These are the most important for a person just starting out. Photo taking with a 100 coins will take some time to complete. My people use the macro setting on their camera, also try to use natural light as much as possible for best results.

I wish you the best of luck, do your research before rushing into a course of action. You don't want to be making any haste decisions. There's a lot of great people hear with tons of experience , so do ask questions. Remember no sales are allowed here until 250 quality posts have been written. This is so the community can get to know and trust you. Do some reading on the site and you'll be amazed at what you'll learn. Coin collecting is a very enjoyable hobby.

Good luck with the "ton" it may worth melt if no value for collectors. I went through a similar situation when my mother in-law passed away a few years ago and was given the task to sort out a suitcase of old coins that none of us knew she had stashed away but alas nothing of value due to the poor condition of how they were stored, got a decent return on sale for melt tho and family was happy to get a few bucks for a burger and fries.
