The title says it all, this is one of the latest coins I acquired for my 7070 album and it is graded by PCGS, I figured I would give everyone a little grading practice to put their skills against PCGS's

I see some possible slight wear on the center of the ribbon and a little on the hair, so I'll go with AU58. Very nice coin.

Bryan, the obverse appears stronger than the reverse except for the marks in the fields. The reverse has a decent strike as they can be very weak in the center ind this coin does not show that weakness. Still, there seems to be some wear on the ribbon. I have one very similar and I would grade it 50. Looking forward to hearing what it really is.

Man, gold is hard to shoot, unless you ageka or Superdave and holders really complicate matters. Great coin, Bryan.

Just looked at it again, Bryan. Are the marks on the obverse on the holder? I was assuming they were on the coin.

Jim, I am not 100% sure as far as the description of the coin they say the holder has scratches on it and makes it look like they are on the coin itself but I won't know for a fact until I get the coin in hand which will be sometime next week. When I do receive it I will snap a few pictures of it in the holder and some after I have it cracked out so I can place it in the album

Maybe it's the lighting, but it looked better in the first photos. Nevertheless, still a nice coin.

I don't know what kind of lighting nor what kind of camera they used to take their pictures but I just use a desk lamp with a regular 60 watt bulb. In hand you can barely see the light scratches behind the head as you can see in my pictures they look allot worse in his pictures than they do in hand

Hi Bryan,
I agree with Amazon, your photos make the coin look much more AU-ish. Liberty's hair and cheek and the upper leaves in the wreath all appear to have discoloration and loss of detail that looks like wear. The frosty luster visible in the seller's photos is MIA. However, it is indeed the same coin judging from the various tiny marks.
Just goes to show how different two photos of the same coin can be!
