I was just looking through ebay and found two Mercury dimes brilliant uncirculated one was 1955 d and 1956d both went for 1.04 a piece so I'm wondering if brilliant uncirculated means never been in circulation
thanks for all your comments

Brilliant Uncirculated is just a vague term for a high grade of Mint State aka "uncirculated".

You can have two coins, both completely uncirculated but completely different grades of mint state. Reason being some coins are struck more sharply than others, some may have contact marks from the mint, some may have more mint luster, or simply better eye appeal.

A claim of "brilliant" uncirculted (tends) to mean MS-65 or higher, but in the end it's not much more than a vague description.

Also, be very skeptical of all claims on ebay, including grade on raw coins.

that's very funny lol sorry I had to get off the floor lol
Mercury dimes were minted from 1916-1945 so if they was merc's they are counterfeit but I think it had to be a typo on the sellers part. and that's why they went so cheap as well an uneducated seller always means less profit cause they have no clue what they are doing. I hope the guy didn't loose too much on his dimes lol
