Here's an ebay offer that strikes me as being some form of illegal gambling ... Buy an expensive roll of wheaties on the chance that a key date might be lodged within: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-s-vdb-...em1e995f9034Feedback suggests that one buyer found an 1877 Indian, but most buyers seem disappointed. One buyer seems to think that paying $30+ for a roll of wheaties was worth the thrill of the hunt ... Your brain on drugs? I note that the seller's location is in Leavenworth, but his cellblock is not cited ...

The seller can't even take the time to make sure the pictures are focused. Probably wont take the time to put any key dates in the rolls.

You'll never win buying rolls on ebay.

His photos are utterly rediculous.

This is even worst than most of the unsearched rolls since this guy is acknowledging that he put the rolls together himself.

You may be right about the gambling aspect...not sure how the law works but I am guessing it will be hard to enforce as it varies by state.
What I don't understand are the idiots that not only buy these, but then leave neutral or negative feedback. What the heck did they expect to receive?

Quote: What I don't understand are the idiots that not only buy these, but then leave neutral or negative feedback. What the heck did they expect to receive? For lack of a better explanation, I think of it as being a "lottery mentality." On the one hand, they know that the odds are against them, on the other hand, hope springs eternal. I expect that the neutrals are accepting part of the blame and thus meeting the seller halfway in the feedback department. While the seller appears honest in his presentation, he's really not giving those low grade keys away. I agree that the blurry and partial pics seem deceptive. This all considered, IMHO, folks likely lose far more money to the longer odds in the state lottery systems.

Man! I should roll up some wheats, throw in an Indian Head or two and hope that I don't end up in Leavenworth ripping people off! Sounds like a good way to pay for that 1909-S VDB I've been wanting.
